Michael - June 2011 |

|
Michael caught this Perch and all his other fish, some twenty five or so (two Brown Trout, more Perch, Roach, a Bream and two Eels) on Maggots.
The weather was hot and sunny, although a little windy.
It was Mikey's second ever fishing trip (the first also being at your venue the previous weekend) and was described by the little man himself as, ... "Really brilliant!!"
Thanks again for such a memorable day and hope to see you again soon. |

February Half Term - February 2011 |

|
Local angling coach Dave Green held a special tuition day for youngsters during February half term. The morning session covered safety, leader construction, fly choice and the basics of casting, this was followed by an afternoon session on the lake putting all the theory into practice.
George and Dan were among those taking part: with a bit of help from Dave 11yr old George caught a 2.5lb rainbow and 12yr old Dan, who had caught coarse fish before, described the day as his most exciting fishing experience to date

Fishing Match - February 21st 2011 |

|
The eight anglers booked in arrived geared up in warm winter clothing as a cold wind was forecast. However, the occasional sunshine through the day more than made up for this.
In the 5 fish, 5 hour match Simon Matthews gained the weight bonus for completing his catch in 2 hours and went on to win overall. Dee Weston made sure the men didn’t have the lake all to themselves on this occasion!
Results: 1st S. Matthews (5.714kg, inc. bonus), 2nd C. Oatway (5.588kg), 3rd N. Oxford (5.404kg)
Further matches are planned through the Spring and Summer – to book phone 01275 810697 |

Fishing Match - November 15th 2010 |

|
Eight anglers took part in a five hour fishing match on Monday 15th November 2010. The weather was just right for a good days fishing and
everyone was eager for the match to begin at 10am and from the start anglers were into fish, trying hard to get 5 fish in 2 hours to qualify for the bonus (an extra pound added to the final weight).
Only Neil Oxford managed this!
With the first 2 hours gone, this still left 3 hours for the others to get their 5 fish. As time passed more anglers left the lake to weigh in. All competitors caught, with 4 getting the target of 5 by the time the whistle was blown at 3pm.
Weigh in Results:
1st Bryan Taylor 5.210kg
2nd Neil Oxford 5.04kg (includes bonus)
3rd Simon Mathews 4.6kg
4th Colin Oatway 4.502kg
5th Chris Clutterbuck 1.864kg
6th John Watson 1.814kg
7th Ade Pagent 1.08kg
8th Gerry Dyke 0.916kg
It was an excellent day; enjoyed by all (can’t all win!). Hopefully another match can be arranged soon.
A big thank you to Andy, the referee and weigh in master.
Tight lines!

Chips Rafferty - October 7th 2010 |
 |
I visited your fishery again for a day of coarse fishing.
Excellent weather and fishing; using pole caught loads of perch, rudd and roach on maggot, over ground bait and micro pellets.
I also sampled your bacon baps and bought a fruit cake and smoked trout fillets to take home.
Congratulations to you all for the way you maintain your fine venue.
Ishall return. |

Roger Green - August 30th 2010 |
 |
Had a great day fishing Monday 30/8/2010.
Was very impressed on how clean and tidy the grounds are and the staff were very helpful and polite.
This was the first time I visiting these fishing premises and will most certainly be returning. |

Ken Baker - August 18th 2010 |
 |
I have just fished the coarse fishing lake for two days.
First day caught nice Roach and Rudd and Carp to 3 pounds, came back next day and caught a very nice tench in my bag of other fish, (see photo)
The majority of the fish were caught on sweetcorn and I was broken twice (using 8 pound line) by something that I reckon must have been near to 15 lbs in weight. |

Finlay James - March 13th 2010 |

Tom - February Half-Term 2010 |
 |
12 year old Tom shows off the 5lbs trout he caught at Jacklands during February half term. Having had no luck on his previous two visits, this determined young fisherman caught the early bus from Bristol and after 6 hours his patience was rewarded. What a tale to tell his friends when he got back to school! Thanks also to Steve for his help and advice |

Bobby - January 23rd 2010 |
 |
Bobby had a successful day at Jacklands on Saturday 23rd January catching this 5lb 'Big Blue' and so winning the sweepstake. |

Grandad Steve & Tilly - September 28th 2009 |
 |
I have not lived in the area very long and couldn’t wait for Jacklands Fishing Lakes to open. Twice a month I visited until it finally opened and I fished it for the first time.
On my second visit I took my 8 year old granddaughter, who was fishing next to a guy who in seven months of fly fishing had never caught a trout. When she hooked in to her fish, she handed him her rod and said “Here you are you, can have this one.” He took the rod and landed the trout he then thanked her for the gift.
She then continued to fish on, with a smile for the deed and ended up with a further 3 fish.
Regards to a good venue.
Granddad Steve & Tilly
(The extra fish was mine.)
